How great, how great is our God
Where do I begin?! As the lyrics of this song
suggests, God is great! I have heard this song a thousand times before.
However, earlier this month, I attended the Passion Conference in Atlanta, and
Chris Tomlin sang this as a part of worship. It brought me to tears! I was so
in awe of God. Just as Genesis 1 states, God created the universe. If you know
anything about science, the universe is very vast! No one knows the ends of the
universe. Just think, if God created the universe with all of its complexities,
how vast is God himself!!! As Romans 11:33 states, “Oh, how great are God’s
riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his
decisions and his ways!” God is indescribable!
Not only is God the creator of the universe, He
loves us!!! The Almighty God cares for every human being on Earth! He
demonstrated this love by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our
sins. As John 3:16 states, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and
only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal
life.” God humbled himself to human form so that each one of us
could spend eternity with Him. He did not have to do this. However, he loves
us! Jesus extends freely His free gift of Salvation to us! All we have to do is
confess our sins to Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and allow Him to be Lord of our
lives. Then, we will spend eternity in Heaven! How great is our God!
